Disney kid turned singer/actress Selena Gomez has been announced as the new face of New York design house Coach.
The former child star, a sex symbol these days (particularly amongst teenage boys), will appear in her first campaign in fall 2017.
The wide ranging collaboration will include Gomez teaming up with Coach Executive Creative Director Stuart Vevers on a special design project. She will also partner with the Coach Foundation in its support of Step Up, a national organisation dedicated to the empowerment of teen girls from under-resourced communities.
Speaking about the new partnership, Gomez said: “I am so excited to work with Coach and love the clothes and accessories designed by Stuart Vevers. I am especially looking forward to getting to know the Coach team as well as becoming involved in the Foundation’s support of Step Up. On top of all that, collaborating on a piece with Stuart for next fall makes this beyond special to me.”
Describing Gomez as a “true Coach girl”, Stuart Vevers added: “The woman I design for is authentic, honest and possesses a romantic charm mixed with a cool, confident attitude. Selena embodies all of these qualities perfectly.”
Coach has just wrapped up its 75th anniversary year and more recently the brand has been undergoing a bold transformation, returning to its heritage in leather.
Coach recently opened a swanky new outlet at Sydney Airport Terminal 1.
