Travelling through New York JFK Terminal 8? Here’s what to buy from the luxury line-up

If you’ve been to New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport Terminal 8 recently, chances are you’ll have spotted the impressive new high-end brands that have sprung up. Since International Shoppes and Westfield partnered to redevelop the nearly 10,000sq ft of space last year, the terminal has become the Rodeo Drive of airport shopping.

To save you time on your dash through duty free, we’ve picked out the must-visit boutiques and what to try/buy at each.

We’ve made no secret of the fact that we’re obsessed with Chanel’s new Chance Three Moods gel perfumes. Available in three Chanel Chance fragrances: Chance Eau Tendre (soft and gentle); Chance Eau Fraîche (fresh and sparkling); and Chance Eau Vive (energising and vivifying), these pastel-coloured pots will be your new carry-on saviours.

While classics such as the J’Adore Dior perfume always make a good duty free buy, it’s worth making the most of your tax-free shopping to try something new as well. We’d recommend sampling the DiorSkin Forever Perfect Cushion foundation which gives a smooth and natural coverage.

Salvatore Ferragamo has built a reputation for shoes, leathergoods, scarves, ties and ready-to-wear for men and women. We’d suggest picking up a leather travel document holder to make your journey even more stylish.

Travelling during the summer months is a constant battle between the arctic blasts of air-conditioning and the sweltering humidity outside. Combat the shine with Estée Lauder’s The Mattifier Shine Control Perfecting Primer + Finisher.

If you’ve overdone it in the sun, then pick up a pot or two of Jo Malone’s Vitamin E Moisturising Day Crème Broad Spectrum SPF 15. It’s nourishing, smells delicious, and leaves skin looking younger, clearer and more radiant. What’s not to like?

We love the Kiehl’s aesthetic – from their apothecary-style packaging to the iconic Mr. Bones that presides over every store. But what we love even more is how effective their products are. Take the new Calendula & Aloe Soothing Hydration Mask, for instance. It not only soothes and hydrates, but it also calms any signs of redness.

So the next time you’re passing through JFK Terminal 8, why not show us your duty free heroes by tagging us on Instagram or using #PretAirporter.
